The Adirondack Daily Enterprise recently ran an article examining the inspiring life of Andrew Goodman and the New York peak named in his honor – Goodman Mountain.

The mountain features beautiful views of the High Peaks, nearby Coney Mountain and the surrounding lakes and forests. The Goodman family owned a summer home near the mountain and visited the area every summer.

Andrew Goodman was passionate about human rights, and in 1964 he traveled to Mississippi to work for racial equality. The trip cost him his life, as he was murdered along with fellow activists James Chaney and Michael Schwerner. Goodman was just 20 years old.
