A giant mountain of snow blocking a popular hiking and biking path in Medford, Massachusetts, proved to be no match for a determined group of locals who recently shoveled a 40-foot tunnel through the snow mound.

According to an article on BDCwire.com, the Wellington Greenway leads users from Boston’s inner harbor along the Malden and Mystic Rivers into Medford. But the popular path was blocked by MBTA snow removal efforts.

So a group of local cyclists decided that waiting for the snow to melt so they could access the path would not do. Instead, they took matters into their own hands and spent roughly 10 hours digging an impressive 40-foot snow tunnel that users can now walk or bike through.
