A hiker who was injured when he fell on Gothics Mountain in the High Peaks Wilderness of Adirondack State Park had to be rescued by helicopter on Saturday, according to an article in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise.

The man fell roughly 10 feet while descending the mountain near the Ore Bend Trail. Nearby hikers came to help the man, who complained about hitting his head and injuring his knee.

Because of impending cold and wet weather, rangers determined that a helicopter rescue was necessary. (READ MORE)
