Officials at Vermont’s Killington Resort say a proposal to host a Skiing World Cup event next year has won approval.

According to a report on Vermont Public Radio, the proposal has received confirmation from the International Ski Federation. It will be the first time in a quarter century that a World Cup skiing event is held in New England.

The women’s giant slalom and slalom races will be held on November 26 and 27, 2016 on Killington’s Superstar trail.
