A popular hiking and climbing trail in Pennsylvania’s Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area will likely be closed until August due to nesting peregrine falcons.

The Mount Minsi cliffs off Route 611 will be closed beginning Friday, January 29 until roughly early August, according to park officials. The trail will be closed from Point of Gap parking lot to Arrow Island parking lot to prevent humans from disturbing the falcons.

Mount Minsi (1,463 feet) offers wonderful views of Mount Tammany and New Jersey. The top of Minsi features a 1,060-foot vertical climb.
