An ice climber is in critical condition after suffering a nearly 200-foot fall and then spending Saturday night on the side of Nippletop Mountain in the Adirondacks, according to an article in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise.

Faced with wintery conditions, rescue crews had to rope themselves in while climbing the mountain to reach 41-year-old Calum Stewart of Syracuse. Unable to use a helicopter because of weather conditions, rescuers had to use high-angle rope rescue techniques to lower Stewart down the mountain to safety. (READ MORE)
