As the spring skiing season approaches on Mount Washington’s Tuckerman Ravine, skiers from throughout the region will begin to flock to the slopes of the Northeast’s tallest peak.
But while Tuckerman’s spring conditions are better suited for skiing and riding than they are in winter, when the snowpack is usually too unstable to safely navigate the ravine, avalanche dangers still remain.
