Hoping to make Amesbury, Massachusetts a kayaking destination, local officials are planning to build a kayak launch along the Powow River.
According to an article on NewburyportNews.com, the launch will be located in the Lower Millyard Park area, just a short walk from downtown.
The Powow is a tributary of the Merrimack River. The tranquil upper section of the river is surrounded by farms and beautiful scenery, while the lower section around Lower Millyard Park is passes through the historic downtown and features over a mile of rare freshwater tidal estuary habitat.
