An 80-year-old New Hampshire woman needed more than 50 stitches to her face, back and arm after being attacked by a bobcat on Sunday.
According to an article on UnionLeader.com, Elsie Dabrowski, of Georges Mills, New Hampshire, was checking on her chicken coop and cutting weeds on Sunday evening when she was attacked.
She fought off the bobcat using the sickle she had for cutting weeds. Her son, who lives in a neighboring house, heard the battle and killed the bobcat with a shotgun.
The animal is being tested for rabies. Officials suspect it was rabid given its behavior.
