A bear reportedly followed a cyclist for a short distance in Farmington, Connecticut on Monday, according to officials with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

The cyclist was reportedly riding on a rail trail when the bear came out of the woods and followed the cyclist for a short distance before walking away.

A DEEP spokesperson said the bear did not make contact with the cyclist, who called police following the incident.

Officials said they plan to use a trap to capture the bear.
