A new guide book has updated trail information on Katahdin and the rest of Maine’s 200,000-acre Baxter State Park.
The Baxter State Park Authority has released the 8th edition of Katahdin: A Guide to Baxter State Park, with updated trail descriptions written by park staff.
The book guides hikers through more than 200 miles of trails through dense wilderness with remote ponds, mountain streams and more than 40 granite peaks.
Besides trail descriptions, the guide has information on campgrounds, backcountry campsites, the history of the park and more.
The cost of the guide is $20.
