bobcatRecent bobcat sightings in Belmont, Massachusetts are the newest development in the resurgence of wildlife in the area around Boston.

According to a report on Boston.com, a Belmont resident reported seeing a bobcat on Monday. It’s the third reported sighting within the last year, leading some to believe bobcats are moving into town.

Earlier this month, a rabid bobcat attacked a Brookfield man. But wildlife officials stress healthy bobcats pose no threat to humans.

Encounters with wildlife are becoming increasingly common in the Boston area. Roaming coyotes have forced Logan Airport in Boston to close runways in recent years. And last summer there were several sightings of moose and bear in the area. (READ MORE)
