Forest rangers and local emergency workers performed two rescues in New York’s Adirondack Mountains last week, including a helicopter rescue on the summit of Giant Mountain.

According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, a 16-year-old girl became sick and unable to walk while on the summit of Giant Mountain in Keene Valley. Two ranger reached the summit by helicopter and hoisted the girl aboard. She was then taken to a nearby hospital.

In a separate incident, a 12-year-old boy suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration had to be carried down Baker Mountain in Saranac Lake by firefighters. (READ MORE)
