Two years ago, I broke in my new GoPro headcam with a sunrise hike up Mount Monadnock. It was February. The temperature at the base was 1 degree Fahrenheit. The temperature at the summit was cold-as-f#ck degrees, and that’s not including the wind chill. But it was a rare morning when I had the ultra-popular Monadnock all to myself. The sunrise was gorgeous, the sky was clear, with a view spanning from Boston to Mount Greylock. And I need to do it again . . . soon.
