While that may be hard to imagine, a New York City hurricane expert warns the city and the rest of the Northeast are due to be hit by a much stronger storm.

According to an article on Grist.org, Nicholas K. Coch, a professor of coastal geology at Queens College who had been warning of a powerful storm hitting New York City for years, says Sandy was only a taste of what is to come. After all, he points out that Sandy wasn’t even a hurricane when it made landfall; it had been downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone. What happens if a powerful hurricane hits the region?
