Now . . . prepare to die.

That’s the word from Connecticut, where lawmakers have moved closer to allowing the first bear hunting to take place in the state since the mid-1800s.

A bill that would allow bear hunting is currently moving through the state legislature. While animal rights advocates oppose the bill, supporters claim Connecticut’s bear population has grown to such an extent that it is quickly becoming a problem.

Bears were hunted completely out of the state by 1840. During the 1980s, bears began returning to the state.
