A Massachusetts family got a surprise Monday when they found a poisonous rattlesnake at their Berkshire home.

According to a report in the Berkshire Eagle, the family discovered the 4-foot, honey-brown timber rattlesnake curled up on their patio. The snake is classified as endangered in Massachusetts, and sightings are extremely rare. In fact, when the family reported it, officials from the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife didn’t believe them until they received a photo. (READ MORE)
