Firefighters carried an exhausted hiker to safety after she was unable to complete her descent of Pack Monadnock late Saturday, according to an article on SentinelSource.com.

The 55-year-old woman had spent the day hiking with family and was too tired to walk on her own down the Marion Davis Trail, Peterborough Fire Chief Edmund Walker said Sunday.

“She would not have made it out on her own. We were fortunate that there was nothing life-threatening going on with her,” Walker said.
