A conservation officer rescued two lost hikers who had no lights or map on New Hampshire’s Mount Percival Saturday night.

According to New Hampshire Fish and Game officials, they received a 911 call at roughly 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 26 from two lost hikers near Mount Percival.

Sophie Yang, 28, of Brockton, Massachusetts, and her friend Wendy Lee, 29, of Boston, were hiking the Mount Percival trail in Holderness. They summited Mount Percival and then, shortly after descending, found themselves off trail.

They called 911 for assistance and then spoke with New Hampshire Fish and Game officers. They said they were approximately 800 feet from the trail. Conservation officers attempted to talk them back to the trail, but thehikers had no lights, map or compass and were unable to navigate.

A conservation officer hiked in and located them at 9:38 p.m. They were escorted back to their vehicle at the Mt. Percival parking area.
