A 25-year-old hiker was rescued Sunday after being injured in a fall on a Massachusetts mountain.

According to an article on WesternMassNews.com, the hiker slipped on a wet trail on Tully Mountain in Orange, Massachusetts on Sunday morning. The hiker reportedly rolled roughly 20 feet down a hill and then fell off a ledge roughly 12 feet high, landing on his back.

The Western Massachusetts Regional Technical Rescue Team was called in to assist local police and fire responders because of the difficult terrain. Weather conditions prevented a medical helicopter from extracting the hiker.

Rescuers were able to use a rope system to get the hiker and safely transport him to a local hospital for treatment.
