headPOUGHKEEPSIE JOURNAL: Theories are arising, but there has been no definitive word regarding the origins of a giant head found this week floating in the Hudson River by the Marist College men’s crew team.

The roughly 7-foot-tall head, with a core of Styrofoam and an outer surface of fiberglass is weather-beaten, missing its nose, and has the appearance of a large Greek or Roman-style statue.

The mysterious head was pulled from the river across from the Marist campus on Monday, according to Greg Cannon, spokesman for the college.

“A lot of people have their theories,” Cannon said Wednesday. “But we haven’t heard from anyone claiming the head.” (READ MORE)
