If you’re going to get into trouble while kayaking, do it on the same river and at the same time that rescue personnel are training.

That’s what happened last week when a pair of kayakers had to be rescued on New York’s Catawba River.

According to the New York Police Department Special Operations Division, to kayakers capsized on the river, with at least one of them becoming stranded on the river.

Luckily for them, a police department was training on the river nearby below a dam at Lake James. Police were able to quickly respond to the incident and rescue the two kayakers from the water.
