Officers with New Hampshire’s Fish and Game Department planned to resume their search today for a hiker missing in the White Mountains.
Crews endured ferocious winds, deep snow and dangerously cold temperatures last night as they searched for a hiker who had activated a personal locator beacon. The beacon is reportedly registered to Kate Matrosova, 32, of New York City.
Search crews hiked roughly 3 miles to a location north of Mount Madison. They were forced to suspend the search as they encountered poor visibility, winds of up to 80 miles per hour and temperatures of 20 below zero.
