Six students with the Tufts University Mountain Club who became lost in New Hampshire’s White Mountains on Friday were discovered okay this morning, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game officials.

After climbing Mount Pierce, the students reportedly became lost after taking a wrong turn in the Dry River Wilderness Area in an area heavily damaged by Hurricane Irene. The hikers were reported lost at 6 p.m. Friday.

Snowshoeing after 4 feet of snowpack, conservation officers were able to locate the hikers and the mission ended successfully around 5 a.m. on Saturday.
