Powerful winds from the winter storm currently blasting southern New England have knocked over a wind turbine in Point Judith, Rhode Island.
Rhode Island governor Gina Raimondo said the storm’s winds knocked over the turbine at Salty Brine Beach in Narragansett, Rhode Island. The tower is owned by the state Department of Environmental Management.
Wind gusts of 55 miles per hour were reported in the area.
Officials said nobody was hurt by the falling turbine.
