Mount Washington

Mount Washington experienced its strongest wind gust since 2008 on Monday morning, according to a report on WMUR.com.

The 141-miles-per-hour gust was the strongest on the peak since March 2008. Mount Washington Observatory also reported sustained winds of 100 miles per hour (the strength of a Category 2 hurricane) on Monday morning.

If the winds weren’t extreme enough, it was also insanely cold. Mount Washington’s overnight low of minus 35 degrees made it the second-coldest place on the planet, behind only the South Pole.
