Hikers, snowmobilers and mountain bikers in Massachusetts’ Berkshire region are going to notice some smoother going in the coming year thanks to a infusion of more than $200,000 in state grant funds for trail improvements, according to an article on BerkshireEagle.com.

Six projects in Berkshire County will share in the funding from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. Berkshire sites to receive funding included portions of the Appalachian Trail, Pittsfield State Forest and October Mountain State Forest.
