Vermonters will have the opportunity to try cross-country skiing and snowshoeing for free this winter during the state’s annual Snow Days events put on by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont.

The events are held annually to encourage physical activity during Vermont’s cold winter months. Rentals are free on a first-come, first-served basis.

Depending on the location, Snow Days activities may include cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and tubing/sledding. Also provided are healthy snacks and a free fleece hat for the first 50 attendees.

The first event was held on Saturday, January 27 at Grafton Trails and Outdoor Center in Grafton. The remaining events are:

  • Saturday, February 3, at Mountain Top Inn and Resort in Chittenden, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, February 17, at Lyndon Outing Club in Lyndonville, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, February 24, at Bolton Valley Nordic Center, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
