A new trail will be built between New York’s Hemlock Lake and Canadice Lake, and it promises to be like no other trail in the Finger Lakes region, according to an article on MPNNow.com.

The lakes are protected as a drinking water source for the city of Rochester and adjacent communities and are surrounded by Hemlock-Canadice State Forest. So not only will hikers be able to trek from one lake shoreline to the other, but they will experience what the Finger Lakes was like back in time, before development.

The new trail extension is expected to break ground this spring. It will be 4.5 miles long and connect to Rob’s Trail, which is a 2-mile loop with a 0.75-mile spur.
