On Tuesday, we ran an article on doctors in Maine handing out more than 13,000 free passes to visit Maine State Parks. Now, doctors in Vermont are joining in on the state park health kick.
According to an article on CTPost.com, the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation is teaming up with some physicians to have doctors write “prescriptions” for people to visit the state’s parks. The prescriptions are essentially free passes.
The “Park Prescription” program, is designed to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent chronic health issues by encouraging exercise at state parks.
