Stretches of Vermont’s Missisquoi and Trout rivers received federal protection last week that will add water-quality protection and preserve access by paddlers, anglers and hunters, according to an article on BurlingtonFreePress.com.
The U.S. Senate approved legislation Friday to enroll about 50 miles of the Missisquoi and the Trout River, its tributary, in the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System. The two rivers are Vermont’s first to be enrolled in the program.
