A hiker collapsed and died Saturday while hiking New Hampshire’s Franconia Ridge trail, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game officials.
Maxim Raykin, 65, of Nashua, was hiking with four others when he collapsed near the summit of Little Haystack around 11 a.m.
Efforts to revive Raykin were unsuccessful. His hiking companions carried him down the trail until they met with a rescue team.
Officials said Raykin was an experienced hiker who was prepared with appropriate equipment for the conditions.
