Hiker Chris Mills recently attempted a winter traverse of New Hampshire’s Presidential Range. And he wrote about the experience in an article on Gizmodo.com titled “I Climbed the Windiest Mountain in the World, in Winter.”
Mills and four of his friends attempted the traverse on one day. They started early and chose a day with low winds and bearable temperatures. Still, the mountains gave them all they could handle.
Besides discussing his experience in the Presidentials, Mills breaks down what it takes to make a successful traverse of the Presidentials in winter, including what factors to consider, such as conditions and routes, plus clothing and gear.
