NH’s Rumney Rocks parking area closed

The small parking lot that accesses Main Cliff at New Hampshire’s Rumney Rocks Climbing Area will be closed for approximately two weeks beginning on Monday October 16.

The parking area will remain closed until installation of a new precast concrete toilet building and associated groundwork is completed.  The expected completion date is Friday, October 27th.  Parking and foot traffic through the small parking lot is prohibited during this time to ensure visitor safety and adequate working space for the contractor and their equipment.

Since heavy equipment will be staged in the parking area, foot traffic will be routed around the perimeter of the parking lot to facilitate climber access to the crags.  The smaller parking lot will be barricaded and signed closed.  An alternative hiking route to the crags will be clearly signed.   Climbers are encouraged to park at the larger parking lot and use the connector trail to access Main Cliff and all western crags during this time.
