20 Bikes Stolen from New York Bike Shop

A New York bike shop that works to make biking more accessible to its community was recently robbed of 20 bikes and other goods.

The GObike Community Workshop on Colvin Avenue in Buffalo, New York, was reportedly robbed of all of the shop’s power tools, 20 bikes, and dozens of new tubes, handlebar grips, lights, and tires.

The goods stolen were reportedly worth roughly $8,000.

In a Facebook post, staff with GObike said evidence left behind at the scene suggests two to three people parked a truck nearby and then proceeded to break through the windows the staff had already secured on the outside and inside of the building.

The shop works to promote public biking access and advocated for biking issues. They offer repairs, a community workshop, and used bikes.

Staff are asking for financial support to help the shop recover from the robbery.
