An injured hiker was rescued by helicopter off Abol Trail on Maine’s Mount Katahdin early Monday morning.
According to a report on FoxBangor.com, the 47-year-old woman called 911 late Sunday night to report she had suffered a debilitating knee injury and was experiencing severe exhaustion.
Two Baxter State Park rangers responded to the hiker at roughly 2:30 a.m. Monday. They called a Maine Forest Service helicopter to transport the injured hiker from the trail.
The woman was taken to Millinocket Regional Hospital to be treated for her injuries.
