A LifeFlight medical helicopter was used to help rescue a hiker with significant injuries in Sherborn, Massachusetts on Sunday.
According to officials with the Sherborn Fire Department, firefighters responded to Rocky Narrows Reservation at 4:19 p.m. on Sunday, October 27 for a report of an injured hiker.
The hiker was found roughly a mile into the woods with what officials described as “significant injuries.”
Crews had to carry the patient about a quarter of a mile to a UTV. The vehicle then transported the patient three-quarters of a mile to a nearby school, where a LifeFlight medical helicopter had landed. The patient was then flown to a nearby trauma center.
Officials did not provide details on the cause or extent of the hiker’s injuries.
The Trustees of Reservations’ description of Rocky Narrows says it features 50-foot rock walls and steep wooded hillsides.
