If it’s cold and snowy outside your window, the idea of summer camping might seem far off.
But the time to make those summer camping plans is now.
Massachusetts officials recently announced that summer camping reservations at state parks and forests will open on Wednesday, February 19 at 9 a.m.
Reservations can be made up to four months in advance of your arrival date. (So if you’re hoping to camp on August 12, you’ll need to make those reservations on April 12.)

Not included in the reservations are Mount Greylock and Washburn Island. But officials with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation say more information is coming, and those interested in camping in those locations should send an email to [email protected] to stay in the loop with any updates.
While walk-in camping is not available, campers can get same-day reservations until 2 p.m. through massdcrcamping.reserveamerica.com or by calling 877-422-6762.
Visit the Massachusetts DCR website to book your camping reservation or to learn more.
