The Kinsman Trailhead on Route 116 in New Hampshire is being relocated to its original location, and a parking fee will now be required.
According to a Facebook post by Tamarack Green Recreation, the Mount Kinsman Trailhead and its parking area will officially move back to its original location — just down the road across from 2 Eaton Valley Road — and will now be fully located on Tamarack’s private land.
They expect the relocation to be complete by the end of May.
The post said a parking fee per vehicle will now be required to help Tamarack protect and care for the area.
According to the Tamarack website, they charge a hiking parking fee of $10 for New Hampshire residents and $20 for out-of-state hikers.

The trailhead was relocated 0.3 miles south of the original trailhead in 2009.
The trail climbs to Kinsman Ridge Trail 0.4 miles north of North Kinsman.
North and South Kinsman are considered to be separate 4,000-footers because the divide between them gives the former more than 200 feet of topographic prominence. South Kinsman is the sixth most prominent of the White Mountains, and is the highest point between Franconia Notch and Kinsman Notch.
The summit of North Kinsman Mountain is viewless, but a short bushwhack to the east takes hikers to steep granite ledges that fall off to Kinsman Pond and offer views of Cannon Mountain, South Kinsman, Franconia Ridge, and Lonesome Lake.
