An environmental group that works to preserve and protect New York’s Adirondack State Park recently released a report stating that more than 100 mile of trails in the park’s popular High Peaks region need “major work.”
According to an article on LakePlacidNews.com, the Adirondack Council released a preliminary report earlier this month on the condition of trails in the High Peaks Wilderness Area.
The group said that 130 miles of trail need “significant redesign, reconstruction and/or repair.” Additionally, the group said all of the more than 250 miles of trails in the High Peaks need annual maintenance and upkeep.
