Coast Guard officials have called off the search for a Massachusetts kayaker missing since Sunday.
Coast Guard crews suspended their search for the kayaker off Nantucket on Tuesday at roughly 11 a.m.
The kayaker, Vitaly Filiutovich, 36, of Nantucket, was last seen paddling near the coast on Sunday afternoon. He was reported missing to the Coast Guard at roughly 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
His empty kayak was found upright around 8 p.m.
Coast Guard crews conducted a total of 44 sorties, searching more than 3,000 square nautical miles over 42 hours.
