Watch: Hiking The Devil’s Path

The Devil’s Path in New York’s Catskill Mountains is widely considered the hardest hike in the eastern United States.

The point-to-point hike is just under 25 miles long, but it packs more than 8,000 feet of rocky, steep, technical vertical gain into those miles.

Filmmaker Dean Tucker is an avid hiker, but he had never done an overnight hike before. Rather than ease into the experience, he chose to tackle the notorious Devil’s Path for his first overnight.

He recorded the experience for his film “Walking With The Devil,” which he released in May 2024.
