An avalanche on Mount Washington this morning nearly struck several skiers in Tuckerman Ravine.
The avalanche—which was captured on video by skier Zach McCarthy and shared on social media by Ski The East—occurred despite spring conditions on the mountain and the Mount Washington Avlanche Center‘s avalanche forecast recently having switched to being a general info bulletin.
The incident shows that despite the current threat of a considerable avalanche being relatively low, avalanches can still happen on the mountain and remain a potential danger to skiers.
The video shows the avalanche nearly hitting several skiers near the bottom of the slope. No injuries were reported.
