An overdue hiker was found safe after being separated from his sons on Bolles Trail in Albany, New Hampshire.
According to New Hampshire Fish and Game officials, conservation officers were notified at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26 that a hiker was overdue after becoming separated from his sons roughly four miles from the trailhead.
Kevin Horgan of East Kingston, New Hampshire had been hiking with his sons when the group became separated, unable to access cell service. The sons waited several hours at the trailhead before eventually sending emergency text messages to 911 requesting service.
Conway Fire and Rescue responded and treated the sons for dehydration while conservation officers and volunteers hiked into the area to search for Horgan.
Rescuers located Horgan approximately half a mile up the trail. Officials report he was able to hike out on his own with the rescue team.
