Backcountry skiers, climbers, and anyone else who ventures into avalanche territory in winter will get the chance to learn from the pros and brush up on their skills at an avalanche workshop in December.
The annual Eastern Snow and Avalanche Workshop presented by the Mount Washington Avalanche Center Foundation will take place in Fryeburg, Maine on December 6.

The workshop is a professional development and education seminar for backcountry enthusiasts and avalanche safety professionals, and it features some of the best minds in the snow and avalanche industry.
Presenters include avalanche forecasters, meteorologists, researchers, guides, students, and athletes.
This year’s workshop will take place at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center in Fryeburg from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. It will be followed by an after party at Ledge Brewing in Intervale, New Hampshire.
Early bird tickets are available now through November 15 for $40.
