Connecticut firefighters rescued a kayaker who had fallen into the water and was clinging to a log in the Connecticut River last night.
According to officials with the Portland, Connecticut Fire Department, they received a report of a kayaker in distress on the Connecticut River on Sunday night, March 15.
Firefighters were able to spot the kayaker in the water clinging to a large log near Portland Boat Works.

Portland firefighters launched a Zodiac rescue boat and pulled the kayaker into the boat.
The kayaker was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
There was no word on the kayaker’s condition or how the person came to be in the water.
