Watch: A Katahdin Ski Adventure

A new Katahdin ski film might just feature some of the best New England ski footage we’ve ever seen.

The film “ktaadn – a Katahdin ski adventure” is seven minutes of pure heaven for ski film buffs.

The film from Jukebox Films seemlessly and beautifully captures the Katahdin skiing experience without any fluff — from the journey of pulling sleds of gear, climbing the mountain, and skiing down some of the most stunning terrain in the East.

The name of the film comes from the original spelling of the mountain by the Penobscot people — ktaadn, which translates to “the greatest mountain.”

“It is not the tallest peak in the Northeast, but in many ways, it is the greatest,” states the video description on YouTube.

The film was shot last March, and required two full days of hiking in and out for a short three-day window of skiing.

“This trip was non-stop, a true strike mission, skiing at all hours of the day and making the most of our short time there,” states the description.

The film was directed by Evan Daigle and Calvin May, and the skiers included both Daigle and May, as well as Andreya Zvonar.
