Killington Resort in Vermont is on the hunt to find the East’s most die-hard skiers and riders. And they think they have the event to do it.
The Superstar Showdown, Killington’s newest spring event, will challenge participants to ski or snowboard for an entire day, with those who log the most vert being crowned champions.
The event will take place on the Superstar Glacier at Killington on Saturday, May 16. The skier or rider who logs the most vert off the Superstar Six from the first chair at 8 a.m. to the last chair at 4:30 p.m. wins.

Both the men’s overall and women’s overall winners will take home $1,000 in cash plus a new pair of skis or a snowboard. Additional prizes will be awarded to those 15 and under, 60 and over, and best dressed categories.
A $10 registration fee will be collected for each participant, with all proceeds being donated to the Mount Holly Conservation Trust. The Killington Giving Fund will also match the donation.
The event has already proved to be a popular draw. Registration is full, but those interested can still join a waitlist.
