Mount Abram Ski Area in Maine will be closed Saturday due to a dangerous blast of cold air moving through the region.
Officials with the ski area posted on social media Thursday that dangerously cold wind chills mean they need to close the ski area on Saturday, January 24 for the safety of guests, staff, and the ski area’s infrastructure.
They said operations at the ski area will resume with a delayed opening at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
Mount Abram staff will reportedly be reaching out directly to anyone with a reservation for Saturday to try to reschedule for another day.
While the ski area will be closed Saturday, Loose Boots Lounge will still be open for the day starting at 3 p.m. featuring live music.
