Rescuers helped a hiker who was reportedly “extremely fatigued” down the Old Bridle Path in New Hampshire on Friday.
New Hampshire Fish and Game officials received a report of a distressed hiker on Garfield Ridge at 4:46 p.m. on Friday, August 21.
The 21-year-old hiker from New Jersey had reportedly suffered a minor injury and she also reported being extremely fatigued.
Based on the information, conservation officers responded to the Old Bridle Path to evaluate and provide assistance.
The hiker was helped by Good Samaritan hikers along Garfield Ridge and then down the Greenleaf Trail to the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Greenleaf Hut.
She continued down Old Bridle Path and met with conservation officers at 8:10 p.m., just below the hut.
The hiker and the rescue party descended approximately 2.25 miles down the Old Bridle Path, reaching the trailhead safely at 11:38 p.m.
